Collections Rep with AccuStaff, call center

Location - Queensbury, NY
Pay rate - $14.00/hour 

These are temporary roles, with the possibility for temp-to-hire transition. These positions are long term, with full time hours. Training schedule (approx 8-10 weeks) may be different than the work schedule which will be 10:30am to 7pm, Monday through Friday.  We're seeking candidates with good phone skills, ability to prioritize, keep customers happy, and have a base level of computer skills to navigate multiple screens at the same time (to update address and provider information, etc.).  


In this role, you'll be responsible for a variety of tasks. Some of those tasks could include researching accounts for missing or incorrect information, placing and receiving calls for medical providers (80-100 calls per day +/-). You'll discuss client information, update billing and contact records, and attempt to establish updated payment information with your callers (soft collect). You must be comfortable and adept at calmly, and professionally discussing caller payment issues over the phone. This may include answering caller questions, clarifying outstanding issues, researching and resolving concerns and more.

In addition to making calls, you'll update our customer's computer system with payment plan information, updated address, phone, email and other related information. You may also be in touch with insurance carriers or others to obtain the maximum payment information available. You will also be asked to prepare information for reports, analyze information, make recommendations, and help reconcile records. Critical Thinking skills are a must. You will be asked to assist with Customer Service calls as well (for overflow needs).



  • Computer experience in either an academic or office environment
  • 1-2 years office experience preferred
  • Customer Service, call-center, other office experience desired
  • Prior collections/Accounts receivable experience preferred
  • Ability to toggle between multiple computer applications while working with customers over the phone.
  • Must be able to adhere to HIPAA rules and regulations at all times.
