Customer Support Representative

Pay range - $13/hour

We are currently seeking for a Customer Support Representative for one of our clients in Malta, NY. You must have a customer service mindset and approach to your work flow (customer comes first). The positions are customer focused, with a need for strong communication skills (written, verbal) along with an emphasis on critical thinking.

In this role you'll handle inbound calls, as well as outbound return calls to customers looking for answers to questions regarding products/services, and upgrades to materials in use.  This will include communicating on the phone or via email follow up. You will be answering caller questions, verifying key points of information (name, address, security questions, etc.) to ensure that the caller receives the best experience possible. You may also be involved in verifying contact information, informing customers of newer versions of products/services, and helping them make the decision to upgrade on those items. Patience and the ability to work with a wide customer audience are required.

Among the “other duties as assigned” includes things like filing, faxing, mailing, preparing emails, collating of various pieces of information for follow up and more. You’ll also actively participate in daily and weekly team meetings, as well as solicit and provide feedback to management.

Requirements:

  • 1-2 year’s work experience in a customer service oriented role, with an emphasis on client interaction.
  • Demonstrated experience with heavy phone work load
  • Ability to interpret information and make decisions based on policies and procedures (escalating where appropriate).
  • High School diploma, GED or equivalent.
  • Ability to learn and adapt quickly
  • Ability to review and execute complex tasks consistently.
  • Send email information to customers (some templates, some free form) in a professional tone and manner.
