Location – East Durham, NY
Pay Range - $24-28/hour

We are currently seeking several Analytical Chemists for our client.  This hands-on role is a full-time, temporary position. You will work with raw materials, in process goods, and finished goods in a lean manufacturing environment. You'll be charged with testing samples, validation, and reporting of findings. In addition, you'll be responsible for maintaining your test solutions, validating your lab equipment, and ensuring your workload is consistent with industry and company standards.  The current need is forecasted for 1 year with a possibility to be extended long term.  

Core Position Description:

  • Analyze raw materials, batches, packaging and finished goods
  • Handle disposition of raw materials, intermediates, batches and finished goods
  • Troubleshoot results for inconsistencies in test results vs. expected outcomes
  • Make decision recommendations based on research and information presented
  • Record findings and document in computerized database, including test solutions and standards
  • Report key findings to operations and manufacturing management regarding problems
  • Investigate quality control issues and recommend solutions
  • Assist co-workers and managers in other areas as needed
  • Temperature Monitoring for Stability Chambers, Retain Rooms, Refrigerators, Freezer, and Chem labs
  • Manual temperature readings with monitoring using Veriteq Dataloggers
  • Receiving and Labeling of samples in LIMS and other data logs
  • Monitoring of schedules for completed product and update data logs, complete forms as appropriate 
  • Label and store testing samples appropriately
  • Review all related testing to make sure they are completed within specifications (timing, results) and update electronic records
  • Calibrate, Maintain, inspect  and clean testing chambers and equipment 
  • Update/delete stability information and perform needed inspections

Requirements:

  • 1-3 years of experience in a lab setting
  • 2 year scientific degree required. 4 year degree required.
  • Ability to work longer hours when needed
  • Advanced computer skills to navigate internal computer systems, LIMS, etc.(word, excel, outlook)
  • Experience writing or editing operating procedures
  • Safety minded work history
  • Strong communication skills required.
  • Team member mentality
