Pay range - $35-45/hour

We’re seeking a Packaging/Process Engineer for a 1 year temporary engagement. Our client is a leading manufacturer in their field, and this role will help them continue to grow to the next level of efficiency.  The role involves improving the packaging and/or the process implementation of their packaging lines.

Responsibilities:

  • You’ll work with the existing teams to develop and test ways that changes in the packaging procedures will increase and improve production efficiencies.
  • Work with vendors on possible new sources of materials to work with existing equipment and or new packaging equipment (to increase efficiencies and decrease overall cost of goods produced).
  • Become an internal subject matter expert (SME) related to packaging
  • Coordinate with local and national packaging and process engineers from other plant sites to develop and document best practices
  • Work with site production and supply chain leaders to identify opportunities to improve the existing processes, create new ones, and improve others. This includes development of documentation of processes to support changes. This includes line trials, evaluating line efficiencies and related documentation.
  • Manage projects related to process improvement including vendor management/negotiations as appropriate.

 

Requirements:

  • Mechanical understanding of industrial packaging equipment and components so that you can troubleshoot potential problems and issues that may arise.
  • 1-3 years of process engineering experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Manufacturing, or Process Engineering
  • Project Management experience
  • Experience developing and executing test procedures that meet required specifications.
  • Communication skills to work well with teams with technical and non-technical backgrounds ensuring all involved understand all key components of various projects you’re involved with.
