A colleague of mine from another industry sent this article to me. It was a great read.  Good way to start the morning actually. As I was reading it, several of the items struck home and the people who have made these snafus jumped back into my memory.

Candidates should really take these tips into consideration. I like to think of the analogy that says, “If you do not want someone to read it, don’t write it.”  Your cover letter is your sales pitch saying, “Read my resume!”  Try to avoid putting in things that may be too cutesy or over the top – keep it focused, to the point, and relevant to the position you are applying for.  Read the article from the Wall Street Journal Digital Network (by Sindhu Sundar) here.
